Chief Executive Officer for Youth Guidance
Michelle Adler Morrison is the chief executive officer for Youth Guidance, a Chicago-based social service agency that offers counseling and youth-development programs that help at-risk youth in Chicago public schools stay in school and succeed in the future.
As CEO, Morrison strives to strengthen Youth Guidance’s legacy of providing much-needed, school-based social service support in the city’s most under-resourced communities. Morrison focuses on the organization’s mission to combat youth violence and help youth develop skills necessary to enter the workforce. She is expanding Youth Guidance’s Becoming A Man program, as well as its involvement in the Community Schools movement and corporate partnerships for the Youth Workforce Development and Project Prepare programs. Morrison also continues to develop the agency’s network of partners, stakeholders, elected officials and other human service organizations.
After joining Youth Guidance in 1990, Morrison assisted in the development, administration and implementation of Chicago Comer School Development Program (SDP) and Community School Initiatives. She also served as the Yale Child Center SDP National Faculty and Regional Trainer, providing school change consultation and training throughout the region. As Youth Guidance chief program officer, Morrison oversaw all agency programs, worked with the chief executive officer to develop and maintain external networks, served as a liaison to Board of Directors, and participated in developing new programs.
Morrison holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has conducted extensive training at local, state and national mental health and school conferences and universities.
