Communities In Schools of Chicago is a non-profit organization that connects CPS students with free programs and services to help support their social, emotional and health needs. Mentzinger's areas of interest include building school-community relationships, coordination of school health services, social-emotional learning and student health, and how schools assess student needs and use external partnerships to fill those needs; and how external partners develop programs that serve students and incorporate learning. Mentzinger earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and is a board member of the Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago Children.
