Andrea Lee
Education Initiative Coordinator, Grand Boulevard Federation

The Grand Boulevard Federation is a 14-year old community collaborative whose mission is to increase the quality of life and improve outcomes for youth, families, and residents of Bronzeville on the south side of Chicago. Andrea Lee, has worked for GBF for five years, creating a Peer Parent Education Network of parents and who work alongside education stakeholders to advocate for improved school-parent relationships towards a common goal of offering high quality public neighborhood schools in Bronzeville through advocacy, organizing, policy, and legislation. Lee believes that public education is a fundamental right for all children where access to high quality educational opportunities in one’s own neighborhood must be the expectation of all schools no matter who they serve or where they live. Prior to working at Grand Boulevard Federation, Lee worked for Neighborhood Capital Budget Group (NCBG) where she worked for four years with schools and parents around school capital budgeting and planning. Lee holds both a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
